Advantages of paper roll coverings

  • Elasticity: Paper rolls are elastic and adapt better to the counter roll. This results in a more even pressure distribution and improved surface quality.

  • Vibration resistance: In older calendering machines prone to vibrations, paper rolls are more resilient and do not develop surface cracks, unlike plastic rolls.
  • Adaptability: Paper rolls can better conform to uneven or changing surfaces, making them more versatile.

  • Proven technology: Many production managers prefer the proven performance and reliability of paper rolls, especially in large-scale production equipment such as supercalenders.

  • Cost-performance ratio: Paper roll coverings offer excellent value for money, as they are more economical to purchase while providing high durability.

Applications

  • Embossing calender

  • Compacting calenders

  • Textile finishing

FAQ

What is FibroRoll and how is it used?2026-02-23T12:00:32+01:00

FibroRoll is our product line of specially designed calender roll papers. These papers are used to manufacture calender rolls: a metal core is individually wrapped with sheet after sheet of the paper and then pressed horizontally, completely without glue or adhesive. After pressing, the rolls are turned on a lathe and installed in various calendering machines.

In the paper industry, they are used, for example, in supercalenders. The calendering process produces products such as magazine paper, as it creates gloss and smoothness on the paper. A special feature: the outer edges of the calender roll paper are used, rather than the paper surface itself, as is usually the case.

FibroRoll papers are also suitable for compacting calenders in the textile industry, e.g., for finishing silk, or for embossing calenders, such as for embossing tissue products.

What are the advantages of paper roll coverings?2026-02-23T12:02:02+01:00

  • Vibration resistance: Particularly durable in older machines, fewer cracks than plastic rolls
  • Adaptability: Ideal for uneven or changing surfaces
  • Proven technology: Highly reliable, preferred in large production facilities
  • Cost-effectiveness: Economical and long-lasting
