FAQ
FibroBond is suitable for all types of cylinder head and flat gaskets, particularly for:
- Exhaust manifold gaskets
- Gaskets for coolant systems
- Oil pan gaskets
- Turbocharger gaskets
- Cylinder head gaskets
- Gearbox cover gaskets
This means the material covers engine, transmission, and exhaust applications.
However, the sealing materials can be used not only for conventional industrial gaskets, but also in completely different areas, such as aerospace, heavy-duty applications, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, power generation and plant engineering, or hydraulic and pneumatic systems—anywhere reliable sealing is required. Please feel free to contact us!
Our FibroBond sealing materials are resistant to:
- Oil
- Water
- Fuels
- Air
- Glycol (e.g., coolant)
This makes them suitable for demanding thermal and chemical applications in the engine and drivetrains.
Depending on the type, the material is temperature-resistant up to 290 °C.
It remains dimensionally stable, tight, and fully functional even under continuous thermal exposure.
Yes. FibroBond is used in both the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) sector and the aftermarket.
The material meets the requirements for series production, the spare parts business, and custom solutions.
Yes. We offer customized branding, including:
- Logos
- Part numbers
- Batch markings
- Manufacturing location
- Assembly instructions
This improves identification, traceability, and brand visibility.
Yes. Gaskets can be coated with a high-quality anti-stick layer:
- Single-sided or double-sided
- Depending on application and customer requirements, coatings can include mica, graphite, Teflon, or PTFE
The coating improves:
- ease of assembly
- later disassembly
- sealing performance under dynamic loads
FibroBond is manufactured exclusively from selected specialty fibers and binders. These include, for example, aramid and graphite fibers, as well as celluloses, NBR binders (nitrile butadiene rubber), and SBR binders (styrene butadiene rubber).
These ensure:
- high mechanical stability
- long service life
- consistent performance under load
The material is specifically designed for:
- Cylinder head gaskets
- Flat gaskets of all kinds
It is suitable for both static and moderately dynamic applications.
